Spacious, quiet room, Very easy access to the train station by water bus. Excellent value for the room and location.
Would be nice if breakfast could begin at 7 instead of 7:30, especially for those with very little time in the city.
The hotel near by the main island & easy to move around .
The room so tiny & the few staff you find around ! too early to check out (11:00 am )
To find a hotel with an enclosed garden in Venice was a real joy. The city is mostly packed solid with buildings, and many frontages open straight onto the water! Thus the experience of strolling in a quiet, well designed garden was a sheer joy. It was lovely to have breakfast there and to relax whenever you wanted to leave the hustle and bustle of the waterways or the busy streets of the city. The staff were all very, very friendly indeed - at every level - from the management, to the front desk and the catering staff. For us, the location 'Dorsoduro' was a great place to be and the district has it's own charms too. Essentially you could do the more hectic streets by day and stroll back to this quieter neighbourhood towards evening and still find good restaurants and amazing sights. I could not believe that we walked just a few yards from our narrow streets and winding tiny canals, to find ourselves wathcing 15 storey high Cruise Ships coming in to port! Just a really good quality hotel - with the clue in the title - The San Sebastiano garden Hotel.
Take anti-mosquito repellants!
The location was quiet. Hotel has lovely garden. Near vaporetta stops. Bring good walking shoes as it is in the quiet area of Venice and that means a bit of hike to the popular sites. However, that means at night and in the mornings it is very quiet. Our room fronting the canal was large and quiet. Hotel had free wifi in the lobby and a dedicated desk top for guest use. The staff was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and arranging for water taxis etc. One thing they could improve on would be the breakfast. Very little selection.
Really, really liked the free internet use on the computer in reception
Our accomodations on the first floor with garden view; the garden; location away from the main tourist crowd but within easy walk or vaporetto ride to everything.
Excellent staff, peaceful but accessible for the sights of Venice.
Service, facility including garden and location
It is a very nice little hotel in a quiet area of Venice. The receptionist guy was very nice and helpful. The rooms are really good, bed is comfortable, a great value for money.
The room, wide, cleam and confortable; the location, close to where I had to go, the sightseen from the windows, the garden.
the staff were fantastic, the room gorgeous, and the garden a nice little extra.
Extremely attentive, helpful staff. Previous reviewers did not like the canned meat at breakfast, but now they have fresh prosciutto - a cool, manual deli-slicer slices it off fresh! Breakfast was excellent! Very nice garden area. Modern bathroom and room.
A/C worked, but was never very cold. At a hotel we later stayed in, in Florence, same thing. When I asked reception in Florence hotel about A/C, they were able to make it colder. This might be the case at S.Sebastian Garden, too. Don't know since we didn't ask. Hotel was very nice, but very pricey - like all hotels -and everything - in Venice. We'd probably stay there again.
The hotel has its own charm and the garden added to it. it was a very beautiful garden and having breakfast there was a pleasure. also the staff esp. Claudio was very helpful in giving directions. He also provided with free internet for few hours which was a big help. Nice, quaint, boutique hotel with good location.
The hotel room did not have basic amenities like tea/coffee kettle, iron etc.
Very nice and helpful staff, great location, loved the garden, very clean, would definitely recommend it to anyone going there.
Very nice garden for outdoor breakfast Location out of the main tourists track
